June 2008 Read full version of June's newsletter Dear Well Workplace Nebraska Members,
Spring is here and so are the dangerous, unpredictable storms that come with it! I hope you and your families have been safe and not had to experience the damage and destruction. There were a lot of great activities and events held across the state during Employee Health and Fitness Week. I have included some of your updates and pictures from your events in the Community Updates section. This is a great awareness campaign that will hopefully be carried out beyond that week for many of your participants. I have sent out emails regarding the Governor’s Award Trainings that I will be assisting with across the state. I hope many of you have applied or considered applying for the new award and will be planning to receive it from Governor Heinemann himself at the Conference on October 8th in Kearney. July 1st will be the final deadline for both the WELCOA and Governor’s Awards to allow time to have them reviewed and awards prepared for October 8th! Please send me an email and let me know if you intend to apply for one or both. For those of you interested in applying for the WELCOA Award in 2009 I would like to meet with you in the next month or two and go through the award to make sure your wellness program has met or planned to meet the criteria required. This will make the application process go more smoothly for you. Please note the next Well Workplace University Training will be held on July 14th at Wayne State College in Wayne. Registration deadline is July 10th. Two more locations and dates will be announced as soon as they are confirmed. Stay safe with this crazy weather!
